Be On Guard

Whether you want to recognize it or not, you are in a battle and you need to be on guard. Put on the whole armor of God and stand your ground. Your victory is assured as you do.

Be On Guard

John 10:10 (AMP) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We have a very real enemy. I’m not talking about invading armies or immigrating radical Muslim’s. The Bible tells us that our enemy is the devil and the demonic legions that followed him during his rebellion in heaven. He is a thief, a murderer and a destroyer. We are warned that he is actively seeking victims much the same as an injured lion:

1 Peter 5:8 (AMP) Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

If he cannot convince people to reject the claims of Jesus, the Christ of God, he will work on the Christian’s commitment level. If he can make a Christian “luke warm” he knows that they will not enjoy the covenant promises of God that come with a relationship with Him.

Revelation 3:16 (AMP) So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth!

The Devil attacks the Christian in three ways:

1. By Stealing: He steals the Christian’s desire for the Word of God and passion for Christ and His cause.

2. By Killing: He seeks to kill the Christian’s desire to be in Church so that faith will not come by hearing.

3. By Destroying: He destroys Christian’s desire for godly, meaningful relationships so that he can isolate him from the Lord and His people.

The result is that the individual and the Body of Christ are weak and suffer lack. They become cut off from the Source of Life and cannot accomplish the plan and purpose of God for their lives. Their blessing goes to the ones who have learned to resist the devil.

James 4:7 (AMP) So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

Be a resistor. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you; every single time!
