I Long to See You

God has designed us to need one another. We should embrace the fellowship of the Saints and join together as often as possible.

I Long to See You

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; Romans 1:11 (KJV)

What is the thing that draws you to others? Is it a physical attraction? Could it be that you think that others would think more highly of you if you were seen in certain company? Have you ever considered why you want to be with someone else? Is it to satisfy some need that you have within?

Our verse today gives the highest and best reason to be with another person: “that I may impart.” The intention and goal of our relationships should be to encourage, strengthen and build up by imparting spiritual truth. There is no gift so beneficial as that of eternal value.

No one is really established until they have received the gift of God’s Son, Jesus, the Christ. They are further established by the Spirit if God as He reveals Scripture truth. More often than not, this comes by means of a friend who has accepted the responsibility to nurture by sharing the revelation that they have received in the Word of God.

After all, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

This, Beloved, is why I long to see you. Besides, I know that I will be the better for having been with you.

That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Romans 1:12 KJV
