Keep His Word – Walk His Walk  

1 John 2:5-6 (KJV) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 

Jesus was the Word Incarnate. In other words, He was the Word walking. Just as He continually kept, tereo, the Word so should we. Tereo means to attend to carefully, take care of, to guard, and to observe which is what keeps one in the state in which he is. Jesus was kept in the state in which He was, the sinless Son of God, by attending to the Word and allowing it to control every aspect of His life as it should ours.  

You and I are given the Word of God to enable us to be kept in the state we are in; that is, the righteousness of God in Christ.  

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.  

God is Love and His Word is an expression of His love toward us. His Word of love will perfect us.  

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  

His Word abiding, consistently living, in us allows us to walk as who we are (who we were meant to be) and allows the Holy Spirit to manifest Christ in us, our hope of glory, which makes us bearers of the riches of the glory of the mystery of God.  

Colossians 1:27 (KJV) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
