Fullness of Joy

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11 (KJV)

As the song says, “This joy I have, the world didn’t give it to me. The world didn’t give it and the world can’t take it away!” Joy, not to be confused with happiness that comes from enjoyable happenstance, comes from the presence of the Lord. Praise draws the Presence and the Presence brings “joy unspeakable and full of glory.”

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:8 (KJV)

When you love someone, you cannot say enough good about them. You “praise” them and all they are and do. You tell everyone how much you love them. So should our love and praise be for our God who daily shows us “the path of life.”

The right hand is a place of honor and delegated authority. To be at the right hand of God in Christ, which is where every true believer dwells, is to be surrounded by “pleasures for evermore.” Our problem, in too many Christians, is that we cannot see ourselves seated in heavenly places with Christ at the right hand of God. Yet, Beloved, this is your rightful place of blessing and rest.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Ephesians 1:20 (KJV)

Take your place and don’t apologize for it:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal (isos = agreeing together in thought and deed) with God: Philippians 2:6 (KJV)
