Truth & Promise

Truth and Promise

2 Samuel 7:28 (AMP) And now, O Lord God, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.

God is the now God. He is the I Am. The Word, and the spoken word, that God speaks is true. God cannot, and will not, lie. His promise to you is sure. You can “take it to the bank”. Rejoice now for what He has spoken to you. Hold fast to your confession in faith believing. He will never disappoint you.

Hebrews 10:35 (AMP) Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.

From what I understand, there are some 7000 promises in the Bible, every one of which is a promise to every believer in Christ Jesus. When we find the promise we need in the Word of God we can hold God to it. He has promised to watch over His Word to make sure it accomplishes what He said it would.

Jeremiah 1:12 (AMP) Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

Isaiah 55:11 (AMP) So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to

Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

When God speaks He speaks absolute truth. He cannot lie as it is contrary to His nature and promise.

Numbers 23:19 (AMP) God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?

John 17:17 (AMP) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
