Through Faith . . . We Understand
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)
As I considered this familiar verse of scripture I decided to take a look at the original language and see what I might find hidden in it.
Much to my surprise I found another reason to believe those brave scientists that are championing the “young earth” model of creation. The tragedy is that so many scientists and theologians have been corrupted by Darwinian theory and are still trying to come up with a multi-millions of years creation theory; the scientists refusing to recognize the possibility of a Creator and the theologians by yielding the biblical record to the whims of godless thinkers.
Let’s start here: By means of faith, pistis, that is, our conviction of the truth based upon the character of the One who can be relied on, we understand,,noeo, or we perceive with our mind, that the worlds, aion, translated as, the worlds, but also meaning, the universe and all that is in them, were framed, katartizo, that is, rendered, sound and complete.
Can you see that? The creation was put in order, arranged and adjusted to fit in completed form. God spoke the Word, rhema, that is, the spoken living word from His mouth and what He spoke was what appeared. It was, as it were, translated from what was not to what could be seen. This agrees with Hebrews 4;12a (AMP) that reads, “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective];”
We also are assured that what God created was created to last through the fall and every subsequent convulsion. Don’t let earthquakes or man made pollution frighten you. The earth was rendered sound and fixed. It will last until God removes it and replaces it with a “new heaven and a new earth” (Rev. 21:1).
