Eyes To See
And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:15-17
Many wonderful servants of the Lord have yet to experience an open vision. They are, unfortunately, too busy or caught up in what they see in the natural to see into the supernatural.
Yes, there is a great deal of activity going on in the supernatural realm of the spirit that the physical man is not aware of. 2 Kings 6 gives us a perfect picture of a day in the lives of Elisha and his servant. An army hostile to the prophet and his servant surrounded the city in which they were. Fear struck the heart of Elisha’s servant when he saw the number of soldiers, horses and chariots. The situation was quite hopeless. There was no way of escape; or so it seemed.
The prophet had a different view of the whole scene. Faith, not fear, was his portion and position. He was able to see with the eye of faith into the realm of the spirit where those who threatened God’s two servants were surrounded by a heavenly host. Time, and time again, Sharon, I and our team of leaders here at Wellspring have been faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles only to have our eyes opened to the innumerable company of the Lord’s host that stand guard around and about us.
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Psalm 34:7 (KJV)
Remember, whether you can see them or not, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
My prayer is that, all God’s servants have open eyes to see the resources available in the realm of the spirit.
