Where Are You?
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Genesis 3:8-9 (KJV)
The idea of “The Voice” walking has always captivated me. The invisible God, the Word, walks with His people each and every day. He is walking toward you today. Selah!
After Adam and his wife rebelled they were devoid of the covering of glory that they had from their creation. They were so aware of the loss that they covered themselves and hid from God. Beloved, my heartache today is that many have lost the glory and, like Samson of old, have no clue that it’s gone. They don’t even notice that they are naked, destitute and alone.
Today is Monday. Were you in church this past week end (week beginning)? Were you there because you desired to meet with “The Voice” or were you there out of obligation or a sense of duty? It does matter. Did you gather together your tithe and offering before you came? Did you bring your gift as to God Himself? If you have made a pledge, did you bring it as promised?
These are serious questions. I’m not trying to condemn but am sounding the alarm as any good watchman should. To walk in covenant with God you must not exploit grace for the sake of your fleshly dictates. Obedience is better than sacrifice and a sacrificial gift of obedience is a sweet smell of incense in the courts of the King.
“The Voice” is walking toward you today and asking, “Where are you?” He is calling you to closer fellowship with Him.
